Ice fishing

We took Easton on his first ever ice fishing trip on presidents day. He was so excited to go. He kept saying fish we go fishin lets go. When we got up to deer creek the weather was great everything was going really well. we all made it out on to the ice with all of James's equipment and BAM Eaton steps right into an ice hole. So he's screaming and frozen James is trying to hurry and get the ice shack up so he can get some warmth and hopefully dry out. Me and Easton stayed in the shack for about an hour with the heaters blaring and wrapped up in blankets after about an hour his pants and sock were mostly dry but his boot was still soaked. Wouldn't you know it right about now is when the heater ran out of propane. So we packed everyone up and headed for a different spot because if all the trauma that was going on with Easton wasn't enough no one was catching any fish either. We drove about a mile up the rode to what we hoped would be a more productive spot with the truck running and the heater blasting everyone out, we finally got the boot dry enough for Easton to wear it. He was so happy to be able to fish James rigged up a little fishing pole for him and he sat at the hole with James for a good hour without moving just waiting to catch the big one needless to say it didn't happen there was only one fish caught the entire trip but, the kids all loved just being out as a family. That makes it all worth it.

We have now been almost 3 weeks out since his first infusion and so far we are still doing well there have been no adverse reactions or any neurological problems. The only set back that we've had and I really wouldn't call it a set back is that his port that goes into to spine seems to be leaking a little very small amount f spinal fluid> This fluid is under the skin and is always reabsorbed but it seems that when he's been really active it leak's and he gets a little bulge on is back but with rest it goes away. We talked with the neuro surgeons from UNC and they said that this can happens and the spot where they placed the tubing hasn't sealed up yet. If we try to keep Easton resting as much as possible for the next few days this should seal up and cause no further problems.

On Feb. 11 we celebrated our 16Th wedding anniversary it has been a crazy ride so far but neither one of us would trade one minute of the trails we have had to endure they have made us stronger and hopefully wiser. All we can ask is that we're blessed with another 30 or 40 years together. Because if James can put up with for this long he might as well stay in it for the long hall.
