A year in review kinda late

I wanted to update everyone on Eastons progress after we had, had our 1 year evaluation. I also wanted to create a timeline of sorts of pictures of Easton so that we could compare an early IT infusion, a middle, and the 1 year marker. I think there have been physical changes as well as neurological. So here is a picture of easton at infusion #1At this point in time we were very scared of the future having know idea what lay ahead for our family but Easton received his 1st IT infusion and everything went well no complications what so ever. By the 3rd dose we were starting to notice that his speech was becoming clearer and that his vocabulary was increasing, and most of all he became potty trained words can't even express how delighted we were. We were at a place in his life where this little feat didn't seem likely for Easton and we were fine with that but, to be at that point and then out of the blue he decided he was going to be trained was a miracle to us. By the time that he had his 6th dose there was no doubt in any bodies mind that the drug was working he had made such incredible gains. His speech was getting even better than before and his grasp of things was improving he was understanding so much more than before. Learning all of his colors, counting to 10 and many many more things. So here is Easton around infusion #6around this time we did another cognitive evaluation and the result weren't that different than the first eval. but the Dr. did say that his attention span had definitely increased and she could tell that he was trying harder and thinking harder about what he was doing. We also got to start making shorter visits. This was such a relief for my other kids at home as well as myself and Easton. The trips just seemed to fly by and it didn't seem like I felt as overwhelmed by it all as I did on the longer visits. now here we are at infusion #12 in retrospect this past year has flown by so fast I can't believe it. We are watching him continue to grow and become smarter everyday. It seems like everyday there has been something new that he's done like learning his abc's, counting to 12, writing his name, dressing himself, taking care of himself in the bathroom, brushing his own teeth and doing a good job, he's able to do multiple tasks like put your back pack away then come pick up your crayons, or put your shoes ,coat, and hat on before you go to grandmas. then walking himself over there ( she lives next door but still its awesome)And finally at his 12th dose they did another cognitive evaluation and his IQ had gone up enough that its within the NORMALrange for a 5 year old we are over the moon. This experience has been incredible. and I've learned a lot about myself and our family through all of this we are stronger than we thought and can accomplish great things as long as we stick together and we don't lose sight of the big picture and always remember what the truly important things are and don't sweat the small stuffI know we still have a lot more visits and more infusions to go but we made it through the 1st
year YEAH on a down note it looks as though his IT port has broke and needs to be replaced so we are headed back east in a few days to have it replaced. As for the other kiddos Camille my oldestturned 16 got her license, her 1st job, and is going on her 1st date in a couple of weeks she's been great through all of this my rock.Kaylee turned 12 is in 6th grade and doing very good she loves musical theater and has turned into a very good cook.Weston has turned into quite the little wrestler. He loves wrestling as well as all sports and he's really good at them. Kind of like his mother. He turned 9 this year and is in 3rd grade ( he's the one in the blue singlet)
